This year’s Pharmacy Show at the NEC was one to remember; a vibrant, forward-looking event that truly reflected how fast the world of pharmacy is evolving. For EMT Healthcare, it was fantastic to be back, meeting customers face-to-face, reconnecting with long-time partners, and sharing in the energy and ideas shaping the future of our sector.
The Big Themes: Automation, Hub and Spoke, and Smarter Care
If one message came through loud and clear this year, it’s that automation is no longer the future, it’s the now. From workflow technology to robotic dispensing and connected systems, innovation is transforming how pharmacies operate.
With the recent changes now in effect for Hub and Spoke legislation, enabling centralised dispensing across different legal entities, pharmacy teams are preparing for one of the most significant shifts in how medicines are supplied and managed.
As automation becomes more accessible, it’s opening doors for pharmacies of all sizes — from large groups scaling up efficiencies to independents freeing up valuable time to focus on patients. It’s an exciting time to be part of this transformation.
Our Partnership with Centred Solutions
One of the highlights for us this year was sharing news of our new partnership with Centred Solutions, the hub and spoke specialists driving smarter, more connected pharmacy operations.
Through this collaboration, EMT Healthcare is now the preferred supplier for all automation consumables for Centred Solutions systems, ensuring customers have a reliable, high-quality supply chain to support their automated workflows.
Together, we’re helping pharmacies make automation not just possible, but practical and sustainable for everyday use.
A Show Full of Inspiration
Beyond automation, there was a real buzz around the growing range of retail innovations and self-check health tests now entering community pharmacy. From diagnostic kits to lifestyle products, the exhibition floor showed how pharmacies are evolving into true healthcare hubs, places where prevention, treatment, and advice come together under one roof.
Introducing Care Express
We were also delighted to feature Care Express on our stand, a company created by EMT Healthcare in partnership with care home owners to improve efficiency, streamline ordering, and deliver real cost savings across the care sector.
Care Express supplies a wide range of care home essentials, including consumables, workwear, and furniture, all designed to simplify procurement and help care providers focus more on resident wellbeing. The response from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the growing need for smarter supply solutions in both pharmacy and care environments.
